We send the bulk of our fiber to NEAFP (New England Alpaca Fiber Pool). This is a fiber cooperative, located in Fall River, Massachusetts. Professional sorters assign the fiber to various levels in a fiber bank account. From NEAFP’s wholesale catalog, we select items for our shop and the fiber is taken from our bank account to fulfill the orders. We like this because it is truly American made … fiber produced in the United States made into a wide variety of items made in the United States.
All of the sweaters we have in the shop come from Peru, usually from a company based in Maine called Peruvian Link. We like this company since they feature great products made by native artists in a fair exchange program, assuring us that the Peruvians are being paid a fair price for their work.
Most of our scarves come from Peru by way of Latin Collection, which operates out of North Carolina. We like this since most of the cost goes back to support schools in Peru that are sponsored by North American alpaca breeders.
We round out the items we sell in our shop from various other companies such as Creekwater, Classic Alpaca, Andean Sun, Red Maple and Choice Alpaca Products. We are always on the lookout for new products.
In addition to the industry partners who provide the items for our shop, we're involved with other industry groups, too. We're proud members of the Alpaca Owners Association and our regional affiliate organization, MOPACA.
